Have you ever stood and looked up at a mountain. It's very high, large and if someone told you to start climbing with just the shoes on your feet and clothes on your back you'd say "I don't think so". You would quickly think of all the things that you needed to survive. Rope, water, rock climbing tools, food, first aid kit, the list could go on and on. Now lets look at that mountain with a spiritual eye. God says climb and what do you say? Do you say, wait Lord, I need this first and then I need that? Do you procrastinate or try to find an easier way to get around it? Here's a hint, the mountain doesn't go anywhere and if you look for an easier way, well you'll just find a bigger mountain down the road, so what do you do? What do you do? You Climb! You step out with one foot in front of the other and just grab hold and don't let go. Trust the Lord to see you through, have faith that you'll get to the top and what ever you do....Don't Look Back! You may loose your footing from time to time, but the best climber will too, just dig your heels down and keep pressing on. Remember the saying, If he brought you to it, he'll bring you through it. So CLIMB.
I remember when I was a child I went to the local pool and jumped in the deep end. I wasn't a very good swimmer so panic set in and I went under! I knew there was a lifeguard on duty, because I had seen her setting up in her post. Surely she would jump in and save me! However, as I inhaled water and tried to push toward the surface I saw the lifeguard just sitting there looking at me. Now I finally found the strength to get to the edge of the pool and pull myself out, but I'll never forget how I felt when I saw the guard just disregard my need. Wasn't she supposed to save me? Shouldn't she have done something? At the least she should have checked on me.
Recently, I was encouraging a new Christian who has a past filled with drug addiction. They had been struggling and thoughts of giving up were going through their head. I sounded like a cheerleader giving them a pep talk before the big game! I talked of help, hope and hanging on! Then the struggling Christian looked and me and said, "You're a lifesaver, you go get people like a lifeguard does and pulls them out!" I never gave it much thought till the next day, then I let their words sink in. See Jesus is the float that keeps those in trouble above water and Jesus is the breath of life we all so desperately need. However, Jesus also needs us to be lifeguards! He needs someone to wade in deep water and throw a floaty to the lost. Someone who won't give up till they pull the troubled soul out of the storm and help them get on dry sturdy land. We all make decisions everyday so which one will you make? Will you be like the lifeguard at the pool and just sit back and watch someone go under or will you jump in head first with Christ in your heart and encouragement in your mouth and help someone miss hell?
God is a Good God, YES HE IS! Hello everyone! I hope this month finds you in good spirits and truly blessed! I can honestly say that this year has brought several ups and downs, but God is still a Good God! Amen! We can always look at the negative, but what fun is that! The positive things in our life bring smiles to our face. The positive things in our life, make our not so good days, seem somewhat better! Now, who gave you those wonderful positive things? God Did Of Course! Thus, God IS A Good God! When things get hard just remember what and who makes you smile! God Bless you all!

Asking and receiving. Throughout my music ministry I have asked the Lord for various things. I remember standing on the steps of a church and saying, "Lord I'd like to sing at their church service." Then before the night was through their Music Minister showed up and asked me to come sing at their service! Another time I told a friend that I wanted to sing in OH and TN and before the month was out, I had 3 bookings in each state! Recently I asked the Lord to let my 78yr old Aunt and her family to have the opportunity to hear me sing his praises. That week, I received a call asking me to sing in Alhambra, IL, just about 3 miles from their home! By the way, my Aunt, uncle, and 2 cousins showed up and had a wonderful time! Way am I telling you this? See he doesn't just answer the big prayers. You know the ones that bring you to your knees night after night, but he answers the little things too! All three examples I gave you where just little thoughts that I had. Just little desires to do something for him. It reminds me of when I was little and I wanted something from my dad. I would just walk up to him and ask. I didn't beg, plead, cry or throw a fit, I simply asked. Then my dad would make a decision based on my past actions and with my best interest at mind. The Lord is the same way. He keeps our best interest at mind, looks at our past actions and gives or doesn't give accordingly. I just want to praise him today, that he has saw me fit to answer some of my prayers. He didn't have too. He has blessed me far greater than what I deserve even if he never did another thing for me! So keep the faith, hold you head up high, live right and walk upright! Then when you ask you may be surprised at how quickly you recieve! I love you Lord!

September was a whirlwind of blessings! So many things happened in that month that I never thought possible! From natural blessings too spiritual blessings, the Lord was smiling upon me! It feels good when everything sorta falls together. I think one of the reasons I can appreciate it so much is because I've been through those months that seemed to last forever. You know the kind of month where so many trials come your way and you think you'll never make it up the hills of life. From my Christian experience, if you just keep pushing, just keep standing on his promises, then he will make a way out of no way! He will not leave you or forsake you, but he will be there to guide and keep you! So as the song says, "Onward Christian Soldier" and keep fighting the fight. We will all have good and not so good days, but with Christ (here's another saying) ITS ALL GOOD! Until next time, may the Lord protect you on your journeys.
Inspirational Verse of the Month
2 Corinthians 1:4 KJV
Who Comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

I recently read, "I am too Blessed to be stressed and too Anointed to be disappointed!" We all go through hardships in our life, but it's when we loose sight of our blessings that we fall into despair. No matter what is going on around me, I can look up to Heaven and still say Thank You! Like the verse in the bible that says in All Things Give Thanks. We must find our joy and keep it during our lowest moments. Find your Thanksgiving and give it to God! I praise you Lord and I thank you.
*Inspirational Verse of the Day...I Chronicles 16:29 KJV....Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

I opened my bible and there was Galatians 5:5. I praise God that I am free by my loving Saviors sacrifice! I praise him that I am not entangled in the yoke of bondage anymore. However, the verse says "be not entangled again...". We once were all entangled, but to go back and get in the same mess again, well that's something I do not desire too do! My desire is to help others, be an encouragement, walk with Him daily, always have an anointing in my soul and in my songs! So when your down praying remember me and my mission for the King that I may fight a good fight and win this race!
Galatians 5:5 KJV
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

What does Lisa and her family do when she's not singing? Visit other ministries, of course! You would think that John, Lisa and their kids would just sit at home on a weekend off from traveling, but NO...they fellowship with other churches, gospel groups and friends! The most recent trip was to Jeffersonville, IN to hear "The Gospel Train" http://www.thegospeltrain.com/. Gospel Train's unique blend of classic rock with today's #1 gospel songs make for an uplifting, energizing concert! Another day off gave the Herald's the opportunity to be in worship service with "Warriors for Christ" in Indianapolis, IN. Pastor Mike Long brings a street ministry approach inside the church doors and helps all regardless of their past. He truly believes that the Blood cleans and forgets All sin!
Now, last but not least Lisa and her family enjoyed Crosswalk's http://www.crosswalktheband.com/ CD release concert! Crosswalk takes their own lyrics and mixes them with a band sound that is unbelievable. However, one thing that Lisa thinks makes this band so special is their keyboards! They seem to give the band that special touch that brings you right into true Praise and worship! If you're wondering why a journal about Lisa Herald's ministry is telling you about other ministries, well its not about Lisa Herald, its about THE MINISTRY! His Ministry! It's about helping others and spreading the good news everywhere you go! So, step outside you comfort zone. On a free evening swing by another church. Go to a Christian concert different from all your CD's in the car. Who knows you may just be blessed and make a friend or two. Lisa and her family sure did!

This may just become a semi-annual event, so be sure to check my concert schedule for more information! If you live near the Beattyville, KY area then your only footsteps away! However, from Louisville, KY you're still only about 2 hours away! This is something you will not want to miss! God Bless everyone and sorry this is so short, but I'll try to be back soon! Until next time, keep blogging for the Lord!

I first have to thank the Lord for my recent trip to Ohio! It was a blessed trip that my family and I won't soon forget! From the first service I sang in on Saturday night it was apparent that the Lord had great things in store for us during the weekend! Before we left home the Lord laid the song "Unclouded Day" on my heart. So I printed out the words and took them with me. As I set waiting for service to begin on that Saturday, the preacher got his guitar and started to pick out "Unclouded Day!" I walked up to the Pastor, showed him the words to the song and told him how the Lord led me to sing it! We both smiled with confirmation from the Lord! I was in the right place at the Lords time! Thank you Lord! The two Sunday morning services both went the same way! Blessed, spirit filled, uplifting and so many other words! By the way, this was my first ministry trip into Ohio and the Lord couldn't have made it any better! Thanks again Jesus! To my friends out there; keep praying for me and I pray that the Lord will protect you on your journeys!
